Hereby I would like to inform you about my personal listening experience regarding my new Cerabase for the B&W 800 D3.
First of all, it is important to remove the securing pins from the Cerabase. Otherwise you will not get a 100% result, especially in the resolution of fine detail. Also, you have to give the speakers a few hours of refreshing time, as they are not connected during installation and thus the capacitors from the crossover discharge in the meantime.
But then, after the first tones of music, you can hear, that this effort has very much paid off.
The performance of the speaker gains spatial image, the lows play more contoured and structured, and now they have a firmness that also benefits the playfulness of the music. Overall, the entire frequency range sounds cleaner and, above all, more energetic. This energy also leads to more emotion, especially throughout the vocal scale.
The performance gets more expressive, and also gains in transparency and accuracy.
Another nice side effect is that you can now move and position the speakers more easily.
This week I expect slate slabs to arrive for perfect coupling to the floor. I’m very curious about it!
My congratulations to Finite Elemente, a successful comeback!
